The Science department is committed to the highest standards in all aspects of its work. The department has a public examination pass rate which is consistently above the national average; in 2010 87% of pupils achieved C or higher in GCSE Additional Science and 94% achieved C or higher in GCSE Core Science. In Biology, Chemistry and Physics 100% of students achieved A* to C

The department has eight full time teachers and one part time teacher. We have eight laboratories each equipped with interactive whiteboards. Technical support is provided by one full time and one part time technician.

Pupils are given the opportunity to take part in extra curricular activities to extend and enrich their studies. These include a Wildlife Explorers and Astronomy Club and Challenge days.
